As the end of June comes to a close, it is a good time to reflect on National Dairy Month and Tennessee dairy farmers. National Dairy Month was initially created to stabilize the dairy demand when production was at a surplus, but has now developed into an annual tradition that celebrates the contributions the dairy industry has made to the world. Parman Companies celebrated the dairy industry by having an ice cream truck at both Parman Tractor & Equipment and Parman Truck’s customer appreciation days during the month of June.

Dairy’s contribution to milk, cheese, ice cream and many more delicious foods would not be possible without the people behind the dairy products: dairy farmers. Tennessee’s average dairy cow size is 170 milking cows and is home to 226 registered diaries. Dairy products brought in $118.9 million in cash receipts to the state.
